Tonight is the start of the most important series in these playoffs. The Red Sox and the Halos. The winner of this series should at least go on to the World Series. I know… Tampa has had a magical year but I still don’t trust them. I know… The Rays beat up on both Boston and Anaheim this year but October is completely different than April thru September. They should beat up on the White Sox since Chicago has expended so much just to get there but the Angels and Red Sox are the big boys. Don’t get me wrong, the Rays are a good team… a great team- and I wouldn’t be stunned if they won the pennant but I just don’t think they’re one of the big boys yet. You haven’t arrived until you’ve shown up and you show up in the post- season. On to the Big Boy Series: The Sox are banged up but I still like them to successfully defend their title. They do need to win at least 1 in Anaheim, even though the Red Sox have made a career out of coming back from down 0-2 twice and the amazing comeback from 0-3 against the Yanks in 2004. If they go down 2-0 it's gonna be tough to win this series. Boston’s bullpen, especially middle relief, is going to have to step up since it's their only weakness but they are the same guys in the pen that made up the best bullpen in the bigs last year. If Josh Beckett being moved to game three is more precautionary than serious, the Sox will win in 5. Game 1 Prediction: Tonight Jon Lester will prove he's one of the premier Starters in the league and the Sox win a tight one. If I were a betting man - and I am, I would take the Sox on the money line +128.
